I'd like to
clarify what I said at the end of the video with
regard to the D# note that I mentioned.
I must admit, I
kind of dropped the ball on that part.
The main purpose of
this lesson was to simply show the relationship of
lead guitar notes and the chords they are being
played against. And at the same time, point out that
the D# or Eb do not exist in the key of A Aeolian
minor.
Now I went on to
say that Ed's choice of playing the D# or Eb note
was a mistake. That's where I made a mistake
and should have chosen my words more carefully.
Ed may very well
have played that note on purpose because he knew
that the Eb is the blues passing note in the A minor
Pentatonic scale which is also playable over the
chords of this song.
So, the note
does kind of fit into the song in it's own
abstract way... just not in the context of A Aeolian
minor.
