This is one of my favorite
riffs. I use simple power
chords (5ths) as a base and
create melody movement with
my 4th finger along with
notes from the power chords.
The key to this riff is
accurate alternate picking.
Also make sure you nail
the stretch when you move to
the 1st fret. Your 4th
finger needs to reach the
6th string 5th fret to hit
the A note.
The riff ends
with the traditional C power
chord at the 3rd fret.
